The following is a ridiculous, jocular conversation between my Dad and step-mom.
step-mom: I hate my life.
dad: Then why do you live it? There's a knife right there.
step-mom: Nah, that's too drastic.
dad: There's some Tylenol...
step-mom: That's too expensive. And it'll ruin my kidneys.
Yes. My family wins at life. Why do you ask?
In other news, I shall have my older sister and slightly-younger brother in town for Christmas, along with the tykes! SO HAPPY! ^___^ |

Fuck, man. This is exactly what I was afraid of. I have precious few days left here, left period, and all I want to do is curl up and not think about it, not do anything. I don't really want to go out wandering Barcelona alone, even though there's a lot left I haven't seen that I want to. It's exactly like I said before, like my 16th birthday, like watching someone else function while I curl up and try to distract myself from this grief. |

| I had a great weekend |

I played "Dirty Santa" the past weekend with the Mississippi State group. The way Dirty Santa works (I originally thought it was just secret Santa) is that everyone buys a present and everyone draws numbers. When it is your turn you can either pick a present or steal somebody else's present. A present can only be stolen 3 times. If your present gets stolen, you have the option of either getting another present or stealing somebody else's. That's where the Dirty part comes in because people just end up stealing everyone's presents after a while. It was amusing. I also thought that "Dirty Santa" meant we were supposed to exchange adult toys with one another. Good thing I clarified that with Cat early on.
I did however spend about 80% of my time with the under 10 crowd. They were way more fun. I ended up teaching the hand clapping game that Megan Layton used to do all throughout JBS.
I also invited Cat, Blake, Emily and Craig over to my apartment to cook copious amounts of Chinese food for them. I was so insecure, that I ended up cooking like 4 different dishes that all could have been a main dish. It ended up good though, and my apartment now has never been cleaner. Now I just need to figure out what to do with all of these leftovers and extra produce -_- |

This morning, my brother was talking to Kassi, Robert, and me all via GChat from Germany while he was waiting for the train. Kassi, Robert and me all were in the same office in Alabama, and nobody was talking in real life out loud. |

nosferatu_blue asked for a ficlet about a person who'd somehow lost their twin, and what they did about it. Well, this is what came out, and I'm sorry to say it's definitely the sprouting seed of a much longer story, but crammed into a smallfic box so I did not go crazy with these December ficlets. shadowgoddess42 said best, however, when she noted the length issue forces much more telling than showing.
I refuse to feel guilty right now. Why? Because this story will be revisited.

liebesleid requested a story involving a mundane yet awkward moment at a traffic stoplight. And so...this story has a...well, it works, I think, and I hope you like it, f-words and all.
Also, I hope you will forgive the lack of nose-pickery in this. Nose-picking at traffic stops is both awkward and common enough to be mundane...but alas, it was not to be in this story.
( I leave Churro's house with a hangover, grit in my eyes, and a hangover. )
ETA: And because she said I could make the whole thing a "three line vignette"...I added boogery. Because I could. BEHOLD!

I've written December Ficlets #3 and 4, so those will likely be posted later today. Number 4, which came into being in the wee hours of the morning, will probably spawn something bigger. I feel like I should be frightened of that, but perhaps I'm ready for longer things again, because it's exciting to have something to add to the list of things I want to explore further.
Last night I freaked the hell out about school, but eastfarthing was there with me (at R's Christmas party of joy and ticking clocks), so I did not go from party guest to party crasher and ruin the fun with my mood swing. I arrived and left happy, and eastfarthing has sworn she must come see my bookshelves because I keep showing her cool things from it, and this makes me happy. She also helped me park and un-park; without her, my unnatural parallel parking fail would have been more stressful than hilarious. ^_~
Runa called thirty minutes ago and asked when I was coming to Dad's. She is the cutest! Also, she is using phones all by herself already. *sniffles* They grow up so fast! So yes, I will head out in about five minutes for Dad's, and possibly see The Princess and the Frog with the dadFam. I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THAT MOVIE! That, Sherlock Holmes, and Avatar are the three movies I want to see before school resumes.
...Though school is a whole 'nother can of worms right now. We'll see what happens there. In related news, shadowgoddess42 gets extra brownie points for calming me down last night too.

Oh my god, flamenco. I´ve never seen anything like that before. I was totally transfixed. It was amazing.
I also feel like this about the Sagrada Familia, the Gaudi church in the middle of Barcelona. I haven´t even been inside it but I was totally speechless just walking through the city toward it. It is like no building I have ever encountered.
More good talks with my Catalan friend. Today I am going to a flea market! |
